KalkReactor users: when to refill chamber?

Do you guys wait until the kalk is all gone, an inch or so left or by waiting for the pH to dip??

I add more when CA and Alk levels are no longer being maintained, my PH usually starts to drop a bit at that time too.

Do you guys always readd to what's left or do you remove it before adding new kalk? I started mine a month ago with about 4" of settled powder. My pH was 8.2-8.35. Now I have an 1" left and my pH seems to be 8-8.15. I may test the pH of what's coming out of the reactor.

I always wash out the reactor, removing all the power that is left before refilling.

test to see what the effluent (solution coming out of the reactor) pH is with a pH probe. That will tell you if you need to add more Kalk powder to the reactor.

My kalk mix is coming out at 12.35 pH. I remember guys saying how they knew to add kalk based on their pH dropping. Mine dropped, but for some other reason. My reactor is hooked into my topoff system which basically doses off of evaporation. Maybe the rain/humidity lately caused less evaporation?
