Just replaced 10K Halide BULB w/ a 20K

Holy COW! The guy at the LFS told me this color was more blue looking. Boy was that an understatement. I have only had my new 175 W MH for about a week and the color of the water looked kinda weird, but now POW !!! The purple in the LR really stands out now. Very pretty, fish look great. I was just wondering if I over paid. 65.00 (175 W HQI bulb).

wait for it to burn in. also, is the nipple pointed up or down? its been debated whether this changes the percieved color or not but my 20k went from more purple to more blue when i turned the nipple up (the way it was supposed to go). I liked the look of both.

If it is a standard mogul type then i would say you overpaid a little. if double ended then thats about right.

Easy Rotties!!!!!!! I'm having a hard time resisting myself.
Esper, Welcome to TRT. Now regarding the nipple directions. I'm having a private moment with a great visual over here. Lets send this to Margaritaville for off topic discussions not reef related. JUST KIDDING Welcome!!!!!!
