Just did some orders for the 150!A.K.A. Caseys build thread!
Finaly!
I just ordered my MR-2 with the PCX-55 and the sequence Barracuda for my CLS from Andy at MRC! I also ordered two 250 watt MH retros from Ocean Encounter! A little over a thousand in bucks in about ten minutes, thats fun stuff!
Should have the tank in about two weeks at most. Ive got all my plumbing figured out and soon it will be all the nickel and dime stuff, thats where the cost will realy go up. Going to go get the acylic for my sump next week and will order the base rock when I get close to water.
Well my blood is pumping and I probably wont sleep tonight, aint it fun!!!

Why do you roll your eyes at me?
Ha , like I dont know! Im going to go with plumbing the flow returns to drop in along the front from the top and have them blow towards the back. The spraybar/rack set up will also be ran by the Barracuda, I just have to make sure the flow will be ballanced between the two. I will post some diagrams for everyones aproval. The ain thing is to keep it simple!
With the CLS flowing about 4200gph and the return moving about 800 gph, I should have some decent flow in this thing (33x turnover)!
Im realy wanting to keep some wrasse in there so a SSB in front of the rock work is probably going to be the way I go.
Im going to sit down with my Father in Law tomorow and start designing the canopy and support for the lights. Still havent decided on the sump design yet, but like the CLS Im going for simple. I am going to incorporate a hookup for a garden hose to drain the sump for big water changes. Also there will be a settling chamber where the drains dump into the sump. The skimmer will be external and I will also get a calcium reactor from Andy.
Some things will be done later in the game, so I will have to add calcium manualy for a while.
I think my wife has come to terms with the scope of this whole project so its all good!
When are you going to start on the 120? Hmmmmmm?
Robert

Cool - a thousand buck's in 10 mins - must be a record
Even though I will be DIY most of everything - tank, skimmer, sump and the other acrylic stuff, it's still spendy enough

Was going to DIY the tank but Ill stich to doing the sump and maybe a tank on my next upgrade!
I could use a little advice on the CLS plumbing. Yhe pump is 1 1/2 in in and out. Im thinking of running 1 1/2 upto a "T" that will reduce down to 1" for the spray bar,the 1" will split and feed the spray bar through bulkheads, one on each side of the tank. After the "T" that feed the spray bar, the 1 1/2 will continue straight up to a second "T" that will stay 1 1/2in and feed the four returns that will supply the main flow in the tank. This part of the CLS will basicaly be a rectangle plumbed along the top edge of the tank with the returns dropping through the bracing along the front of the tank and aimed at the back. I was thinking of plumbing the returns in 3/4 but wonder if 1" would be better. The pump pushing all of this is a sequence barracuda with about 42-4500gph. I will have a valve for the spraybar and the top portion of the CLS so I can balanc flow, just want to make sure the PVC sizing is correct.

robert,
even though it is a strong pump. do you think with all the "T"'s that it will majorly cut it down ( seems like it might have a lot of drag)? would going with two smaller pump be better?

Thought about that. Basically its a straight shot from the pump to the top CLS with one spur coming off for the spray bar. I think it will actually flow smoother than the two over the tops I have in the 55. I am also going to us flexable PVC where possable to eliminat as many fittings as possable. Guess I will have to make a diagram to submit for aproval and better explanation! Jese, that means I have to figure out how to get the drawing scanned and posted...wheres my wife!

I don't like money, it goes away too quickly; especially in this hobby.
Can't wait for the setup pics!!
