just curious. help ID

maybe i'm just a paranoid rookie reefer, but after reading a whole lot of old posts about aptasia and flatworms and other pest... i have to ask what these things are.. cause i'd like to rid the problem before it begins.

They are just a smudge of jelly looking stuff, one of them has a bit of blue inside, at first there was just one... now i have 3.. a bit worried is all.

ALSO, this one is red and looks like a mini volcano, it has stringy mucus that it seems to emit from its top.

My eyes are hurting, FWG...

The first textual descrip seems to point to harmless sponges, or possibly compound tunicates. You can even check out online images of egg masses for a possible match. I'm presuming of course, that the blobs don't move around!

The last textual descrip suggests a vermetid gastropod: a tube-snail if you will, and the hard tubes can often be reddish and conical at the base. The mucus trailer (net, really) is used to trap food items in the water for reeling in later.

Hi there!! The first ones you were showing pics of I had a few in my tank but nothing ever became of them. I thought they were chromis egg sacs or sponges. Johnny
