jbj nano cube

Was wondering if its worth it, but my g/f wants to start a tank really bad. She saw a cube thats for sale at a really good price, but Ive read somewhere that these tanks are garbage. Should I just keep looking for something else or jump on it. I think I read that the aquapods are better than the jbj but was hoping someone could help me out.

The JBJ's are not that bad. All you really need to do with them is remove the biobals from the system, maybe get a better light depending on what you want to keep, and toss a power head or 2 in there. There are several people on here with the JBJ tanks I think, and for the most part they sound happy.
So to answer your question, they are not garbage.

How about looking at the Aquapods. They have ones with PC lighting and ones with MH lighting. You living in FL like myself you might want to go with the PC lighting one unless you have a plan to run some kind of cooling system to keep the water cool.

I don't know who has the cheapest ones of these but if i remember correctly they are not to expensive.

I do believe they come in 12 gallon and 24 gallon size.

I would actually prefer to get an aquapod for her since I actually know someone that has had one for a long time with no problems. My g/f has been on the hunt for a setup since I told her that I would buy her one so she can setup it up and maybe put some seahorses in it later down the road.( Found some locally that eat frozen food) Its come down to a 48 gallon bowfront (which I prefer since it would be a bit more stable for her but she loves the look of the nanos) or the 12 gallon nano cube. They are both used and at a very gopod price. Its either one of these or just get her a 24 gallon aquapod (which I think would be the best of the three) but she would have to wait a little longer for that one since it would have to be purchased new.

For a seahorse tank the 48 bow would be the better choice IMO.
