I've come to a decision...
I've decided to take the tank back to being LPS/Softy only. My clam died over the weekend. I have a terrible infestation of the little white snails--and I think that's what finally did him in.
I've never had luck with the sticks (SPS)....can't seem to get them epoxied or glued in place that they like, or--if I find a good place, they don't stick and fall down in the rockwork...
SOOOOO.....I'm going with the wavy, flowy things along with my zoos and rics.....

Jodi-
That's awful about your clam I've not had any luck with sticks, either. But what I have is LPS and softies, and I love them! (Does hair algae count in that group? It's soft and wavey ... )
Go for it, my friend. And enjoy

Jodi,
There's nothing wrong with that. There are lots of nice softie tanks out there. More movement with softies and lps's anyway.

Sigh.....

I am very sorry to hear of your clam and luck with "sticks". Somehow I did not realize you were having trouble with them.
I do not think there is anything wrong with your decision. As you know I have the 90 dedicated to LPS and Soft corals and only the 58 for SPS.
What do you plan to do with your existing SPS? Duane, JnS, MJSandbe, ....?
If a LPS/Soft corals tank can not get TOTM, there is something wrong with the reefing world!

what about this TOTM. we just look for nice systems, do not care if they have sticks or squishes i them. do whatever you have the most success with. i do not have good success with softies, so i went with sticks. those softy tanks are much more relaxing to watch, everything flowing in the current, great stuff!!!

Yah, I know several mods that are biased towards squishes, cant understand the twig fascination
