Question

It's pink, it's hairy, what is it??

I was looking around the tank tonight, and found a couple small patches of a pink "slime". they are a bright pink color, with what appears to be stiff bristles sticking out about 1/4". I would have to move rock around to get a good pic, but can anyone take a shot at what it is by my description? Thanks, Mike

Sponge? If they're in the dark, that's an idea.

If it's what I'm thinking, you need to look through the archives for information. My buddy had some (well alot) and had real difficulty getting rid of it. Look for post by "thebigblue" if you don't find anything... email him, he'll be glad to help. From what I know, it is a type of macro algae, not too damaging in itself, but will grow quickly and will overtake your tank if not taken care of. Hopefully someone that knows more will help you out.
