Thanks, everyone, for letting me whine about my power bill. I have done a bunch of calling and being on hold and so forth with the gas company. You bet I am fighting it. I work the late shift on Wednesday, so in the AM I'm going in person to talk to someone about it. Outrageous!

Cath...could they have taken an estimate, as opposed to an actual reading? They do that here at times, with the estimate always being higher...then they adjust the next month with the actual.

Still...almost 300 clams in outrageous.

Oh took a pic of the house and all the snow. Folks are saying they have not seen this much yet since the 80's. We did not really start the snow season yet.

Perry! That is one HUGE snowfall. Does that mean that your method of measuring snow is off the charts now?

Chris - I am on equal payments with the natural gas company. But they increased it to make up for the "high natural gas prices". February is supposed to be my settle up time, and they said that they were trying to prevent me from having an astronomical bill then. I've been on equal payment for gas and electric for years and have never had this kind of problem. Still, improved insulation is a good idea anyway.
