It's FRIDAY!!!
Good Friday Morning, Everybody!
A cold 19 on Rocky Top this morning, with 35 expected later. Hot coffee is required!
Another busy day in store today, as usual, with much to do with FishGirl later. We've got to get the Science Fair project finished this weekend! I can't reveal too much yet, but it does involve two rats!!!
This is one of the Bluejays that live in our woods....his/her feathers were a bit ruffled by the breeze:
Have a great Friday!
Dick

Mornin' Dick, Tims, Cath and TRT,
Still in a deep freeze here Have to work this afternoon but then I'm off for 3 days
I always had a laugh watching the Jays try to grab food from my feeder that was designed to only feed little birds -- those Jays are amazing acrobats when food is involved
Have a good one, everybody.

Great pic this morning, i love BlueJays...had a baby one a while back that i named Buster...he fell out of a tree and tore his left leg wide open so i had to put him back together untill he was healthy enough to handle life on his own... miss that sweet little baby. He was beautiful, grouchy and could eat like a feathered horse.
Gotta love that Blue Jay attitude
I am SO glad its friday.... i think my mushroom/anthelia problem has something to do with my SG... i usually keep it at 1.024 but i checked last night and it was 1.026 i think it has something to do with the batch of IO i got, it seems to take about 5 days to totally dissolve... i usually miz my salt and water for changes about 2 days, so if at 2 days its not all dissolved when i check it for SG, what remains to dissolve will only raise the salinity after i add it to the tank.
So i'm just going to bail out about a gallon of tank water and replace it with aged unsalted untill its back to rights over the next few days. I hope thats the best way to do it.
I got my special order FW planted tank substrate last night, so i'll be setting up the beginnings of my 30 gallon watery jungle over this weekend i hope
Coffee is calling, anyone want some? i think i made too much this morning and hubby didn't have any so there's extra!

Icebeard!!! Bwahahahahahhaahha
Scott has fit that description after a long evening of shovelling snow out of our 300' driveway, back in the day.... Have I mentioned how much I love love love the South??
Tea is steeping, the other grown-ups are stirring, I can hear Scott crashing around in the next room
This time tomorrow, Mom will be at the airport. I have seen the interior of more department stores than I care to mention. AND after 2 separate Wal-Mart experiences, Mom found 2 pairs of jeans that fit (alleleuliah!) but had buyer's remorse about buying some knitting yarn she wanted, but cannot cram into her luggage so I guess I get to see the inside of Wally-World at least one more time.... gawd I hate shopping, and I really don't like Wally-World at all... our local one only hires grumpy people who won't make eye contact (if they have both eyes looking the same way that's a plus!), and turn and walk the other way when they see somebody who might have a query... Anyway, it's only one more day....
Meanwhile, back at the store... Scott was busy yesterday putting up cove base (baseboard) around the new section. I was fortunate to find a match to the colour we got when we put the vinyl in the main store 2 years ago - I called the company I bought the vinyl from and they happened to have *just* enough in stock. Today my security guy comes to re-key the locks on the new unit, and pull a phone cable into the new section. Once that's done we can move the front counter into place, and hook all that stuff up. Scott is picking up some extra store shelving today from our landlord... so we can start moving dry goods too. I have had a couple of deliveries this week and haven't bothered to unpack them... since we're so close to shifting them all over.
Once all that is in place, we'll get the shelving for the freshwater section measured and ordered, then while we are waiting on that, we can start fidgiting with the big tank. I need to find a cabinet maker to make the stand look pretty, but that will be after all the plumbing is in place.
Well.... off to work we go!
Jenn

Doug,
I think this one is a Scrub Jay. (I'm not too swooft on my bird ID's!) We also have the larger Eastern Blue Jays that are more agressive, like the Stellars.

my guess is a standard Jay, possibly female since it looks like her belly is more gray than snowy-white and her blue isn't super brilliant, at least i think thats how it is with Jays, they are hard to tell apart when you only see one at a time.
