So, yesterday I spent the day cutting up the pipe for the rock standoffs and installing them. Also I replaced some of the return plumbing to increase my
flow rate. I took everything except the substrate and 20g of water out of my 90g reef. Yuck is all I have to say about that. I pulled 20 gallons of some of the nastiest water I have ever seen out (enclosed pic

) Then when reassembling my tank, I spash water on my ballast! I unplugged it really fast, as the smoke started to pour out of the top. finished filling the tank and took the ballast appart. I have 3 ballast and I fried only the moonlight ballast. Lucky I had a spare! I put it all back together and started up the system, and everything worked! First try... I must be getting better at this.
This morning everything looks good and clear and the mated pair of dusky jaw fish I have are doing thier best to screw up the zen state of sand I had going on, to create the perfect home.
I'll take pics when the lights come back on.
