Wake up at 3:00am get a flashlight and look in at the tank. Youwill see then swimming all over the place
More than likely they will be Pods.

If they have big black eyes and attach to fish I'd be concerned otherwise they are a good thing.

I never saw any spots on my fish. (before they died that is) i really think they starved to death because they would not eat the food i was giving them. I fed them the food the LFS guy gave me but i think next time im gona buck up and buy more of a variety. Those bugs are plentiful though. I see them crawling on the rock as well. I also spotted a few Asiapora on one of my rocks. i guess ill have to get rid of them asap. they look kinda kool but they are still very small. Ill try to get som pics. I need new batteries for my digital camera.

I have never seen pods out in numbers while the light were on!

your fish not eating may be a whole nother problem. What type of fish were they? how long has your tank been setup? It usually takes a while to build up a healthy supply of pods. Google isopods or amphipods and look at the pics and see if thats what you have.

You keep using the word "crawling" pods swim through the water more like a shrimp.

They are deff. crawling, not swimming, so thats a relief. i had a gramma, a mimic tank and 2 cardinals. I never saw the cardinals eat anything, the mimic ate but i didn't supply it with the nori or (i guess) enough veggie diet. The gramma rarly came out and ate very little from what i saw. I was feeding them a frozen concocsion of diff sea meats and alge. The lfs guy set me up with it. Next time i m thinking of getting some small live food like brine shrimp or something??

make sure you see a fish eat at the LFS before you buy it.

my mimic would eat anything I put in the tank except for nori, so you don't have to feed nori to keep a tang happy. same for the grama. Personally I feed dry flakes and pellets, and rarely mysis, frozen foods, if given everyday can lead to problems especially if you don;t have a skimmer or don't do regular water changes.
Personally I know my LFS get fish on wensday so I don't buy untill saturday or later. and I ask them to feed the one I want.

I had small isopods infestation in the two tanks, they liked to make burrows in the the chili coral, tree sponge and cover the bryozoan, other way didn't the harm, even in very big quantities. Wrasses (any of suitable size, they have a pointed mouth, I used the cleaner and yellow cory juvenile) solved the problem in a couple of days. Scooter may work too, but its feeding later may overload the tank filtration capability.

Thanks for all the feedback.....Tank Update ....today i found a headless hermit crab out of his shell??? All my water parameters are in chk.....could it have been my cleaner shrimp? Those little bugs i was talking about? Theres nothing else that is mobile in the tank besides a few snails. i also have 3 of those trouble anenomes astasia(something like that i know they are not too good) Im gona try plucking them i think with a set of long tweezers....... although they are harming nothing at the moment and they are in the rear of the tank......
I wish i had a digital camera if i get one i will post a pic, i think they would be too small to take a picture of though, (the bugs i was talking about) they are really small.
I do have a skimmer running and i think its doing a good job i get some really good sludge along with some dark colored water. i clean the cup out 2 times a week. its a coral life supper skimmer 125....
Im prolly gona make a fish stre run this weekend and maybe buy one fish and maybe a pepermint shrip and see if it eats that astasia thing .....
Thanks for all the feed back....keep it coming.....TRT Rocks

don't pluck the aptasia... use a syringe and squirt them with joes juice or lemon juice instead. plucking them will no work.
