not the best picture, but the best one that's possible through two layers of acrylic, and a shrimp moving around frantically.
it walks a bit "funny" too due to that bug.

no idea how long, i JUST got the shrimp home from the LFS
i told the guy to grab two of the smaller shrimp, not the big ones.
i never noticed it until i got home and got it out of the bag and started dripping.
maybe i can gently pull it off ?

how would you hold the shrimp in place to do that !?!? maybe let him walk around in the tank for a while...most likely it will come off when the shrimp sheds.

Dont even put that thing in your tank. Try to pluck it off with tweezers, and if that doesnt work, cut the leg. Brutal I know, but it will grow back.
I cant see the isopod in the pic

i had all my gear ready to do some surgery...
and it looks like the isopod is no longer there. but there definately was one in the past. and it left an isopod shaped "bulge" in the exoskeleton of the shrimp.
i'm going to keep this one in my sump for a couple of days, just in case.
hopefully, by the time it molts it will grow a normal shape.
how long does it take for these guys to molt ?

Wouldn't a hospital tank be better?
