hard to tell from the pics. does it peel off real easy or stick to the rocks. if it is sticking it could be the beginning of a hair algae.

I am going to agree with this, before my tank was taken over with HA it looked just like that then within a month it was 100 times worse.

I fought it for months. its realy tough once rooted. I would remove the rock if you have any doubts and cook it.
