Whew.. thanks. I did not there is a gap where the seams are on the beckett. Is this made to be taken apart into 2 halfs? or did my seam split?
How long will it shoot water out on the top like that for??

seems like its cracking, mine has never done that, before or after cleaning. but i have noticed a seam on it and always wondered. did you screw it back on too tight? or maybe some teflon tape might help?

I just have been running water thru the inside, and taking a toothbrush to the outside.
I did notice 2 o rings on both ends.
Mine has been shooting water like this for almost 4 days now. I think i maybe losing skimmer production because of it also

You take the beckett bit out, remove the o-rings from the top and bottom, and the 2 halfs seperate.
I'm thinking that yours has something stuck in it DevilBoy, that's probably why it just started doing that.

Next time you're at the hardware store, pick up two slightly larger and thicker 0-rings. Put the ones you have on first, then put the bigger ones on next.

Whiskey,
I took it apart and there was nothing stuck inside of the beckett.
The only thing i did different when i cleaned out over the weekend was i unscrewed the acyrlic housing out of the base of the sump. Cleaned out the housing real well. Then replaced the teflon tape on the threads and screwed it back into the base of the skimmer. I unscrewed the air injector valve on the side and cleaned that, and replaced the cotton silencer. But i did not put the teflon tape back on threads for injector. Could this be the problem?
Did i break my skimmer?

Right after I clean mine it always sprayed water around inside the housing, after a little gunk built up in there it always stopped. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have noticed that even small rubble can get in there and disrupt the skimmer. I have taken it apart to try to fix it and notice small pieces of carbon or shell and sometimes I think I missed the rubble altogether, and when reinstalled....IT WORKS AGAIN!?

Ya, I used to get small snails jammed in mine. I'd see the water level drop in the skimmer, and know I had something stuck in there.
