Is this normal?
Hi Everyone!
As most of you know I bought a puffer (Polly) last night. She was supper thin when she arrived ( i figured a runway model). This morning when the lights came on she was out nipping at crab and swimming around. She seemed to be interested in eating so I fed the tank. She gobbled up a bunch of freeze dried shrimp her belly was nice and round totally full. Since then I haven't seen her! Is that normal? Do puffers hide after eating? Do you think something may be wrong? All of my other fish are out and about.

Mine usually eats a bunch, then just cruises around the tank. But I dont have any hiding spots big enough for him. Id advise looking for her and seeing if shes moving...

Im not sure what you SHOULD do. But what I would do is look for her, moving a couple things around.

what should I do? leave it alone or put the cleaner in the sump? Every time she comes out the cleaner goes after her. Do the Valentino puffers have spikes? maybe thats what the cw is trying to pull off?

thats a tough one pat, personally id let her hide, untill they work everything out, the wrasse shouldnt be attacking a puffer, but they are fish, and fish do what they want. so maybe action should be taken, but remember its the first day, and some stuff like that can be expected.

thanks Andy.
The good thing is I know she ate really well. I have no idea why the wrasse is doing that. I think it is trying to clean her but I think it is pulling on her spikes. I will give it some more time. What would you do?

My Dogface likes to hide like that sometimes . He finds a nice behind some rocks and perches to it . Sometimes it can be for hours or sometimes he doesn't do i guess it depends on his mood . My black and white Heniochus tries to clean my puffer and he hates it just be careful cause from what I've seen there pron to bacterial infection were they get a slime area on there body . I've had 2 that have gotten this one died and the second is the one I've had for about 2 years he's still kicking but u can see the scar..
