Is this light going to work?

Im about to pick up a 125g tank and want to use the lights from my 120g.

Obviously the problem is that the lights are 48" and the new tank is 72" long.

I have 2x 250 HQI Metal Halides, and 4x96 actinics

I was thinking that since the 125 isnt as deep as the 24" deep 120 that I could raise the lights a little bit so they cast light in more direction.

Would this work, or do i need longer lights?

If you center the lights then there will only be 1 foot off each end that isn't directly under a light. I think that would make a great location for some lower light corals and such. So I would definetly use the 48" lights you have now.

You could buy one more 24" fixture and cover the last 2 feet of tank.

The light you have really won't work because the standard 125 has 2 opaque center braces, and they will end up right under the MH lamps casting big shadows

They are every 2 feet. I had to use 3 MH on my 125 too.
