Is there such a thing

Is there such a thing as a peaceful Damsel fish?

I am considering a school of these
http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_...fm?pCatId=1848

or these

Just the word Damsel makes me think of a constant death match! Am I wrong?

I don't think any of the Chromis species are aggressive, they are all schooling fish in nature.

i agree as well...i had 5 green.
1 fish will dominate within in the school, but that's nothing to worry about.
They also don't hide as much in school of 4 or more--they help draw the other fish out.

Beware:They eat a lot. My other fish didn't stand a chance, over feeding became a problem so i had to trade them.
That also means more ditrus.

but they are very cool fish.

I like damsels; especially the margarite damsels that are really wimpy. They stay near coral heads and take refuge in them at the first sign of trouble. This is one damsel with personality without being a pest

I had six green which schooled nicely until the biggest one died. One rogue chromis then bullied and harassed most of the others to death unitl it was the sole survivor. I then introduced 2 tomato clowns which the chromis bullied relentlessly so I had to remove it. Lessons to be learned:-

A shoal of six or more dissipates agression.
Even if a fish is described as peaceful it doesnt mean you wont end up with the serial killer of the species.
