Is my Pagoda Dying

Came back from a weekend away. My pagoda up which normally has its tentacles fully extended was completely inside of itself. When i moved some of the water around near him it looked like some of his "skin" was peeling away. Does this species shed or is he dying????

Hmmm... can you post a photo? Pagoda I'm assuming you mean a Turbinaria sp? Long polyped or small polyped? I've seen them slime up if they have sand dropped on them, but usually they are either open or closed. If a close neighbour stung it, it could slough...

More info might be more helpful and a pic would definitely help.

Cheers,
Jenn

Yes Pagoda Cup Coral (Turbinaria) It is a long polyped. He has gone inside of himself before, but the thing i noticed this time was a small piece of his outer covering looked like it peeled back maybe the size of half a finger nail. I did recently place a BTA in the tank but he was not near him when i got home. He has secreted a little bit of slime but not very much at all
