Is my BTA splitting?

Today I woke up and saw that my BTA had very inflated tentacles, more than usual. I thought nothing of it and went about to do my business. After lunch I walked by my tank and saw what appears to be a piece of rock sticking out from its mouth.

I was pretty confused as I looked closer. I realized that the rock it was attached on was now protruding out of the mouth. Everything looks normal with the BTA except for the exposed rock from underside. Does this mean it is splitting?

The only environment change was yesterday when I did a weekly water change.

As you can see, the LR clearing poking out in the middle...

Our BTA had the same behaviour on the tentacles a lot but not the rock protruding. When it split there were no signs though...we just looked and there were two forming. We caught it while they were still touching and just finishing.

Most when they are ready to split- go into hiding, guess fell more protected that way. But have also seen and heard of them spliting in the open. It was ready to split and the WC just helped it along.

Alright - two mouths to feed but in about a week of so.

Thanks guys, turns out they actually did split. The whole process took about 8 hours or so. Now I have 2 BTAs, one bigger and the other smaller. Not too sure on how to take care of them now since I can't feed them just yet.

Any of you guys have recommandations?

It'll be about a week or so when they are healed up. Until then, they won't eat. Just do a WC and keep the water pristine - helps to heal w/o risk of infection.

As requested...

Before the split, it was right in the middle of the two. Now they look a little beat up, but nothing time won't fix.
