Question

Is it a problem to put 2 PR of Clowns with 2 different anemones in the same tank?

Hello all,

I was given a Bubble Tip Anemone recently and I already have a Ritteri. The Ritteri has a PR of True Percula Clowns living with it and I was wondering if I should get a PR or Maroon Clowns for the BTA. I have a 180 and was wondering if the clowns would fight or if they would get along ok. I have read that BTAs like to have clowns with them like the Ritteri. I was checking around on a few different sites and one of the types of clowns that was recommended for the BTA were Maroon Clowns(which I happen to like).

Is this a reasonable thing to do, or not???

I would appreciate your input.

Thank you,

Hi Steven!! I have a pair of maroon clownfish and they can be aggressive but I don't know how they would get along with a pair of percula clownfish.

Your tank maybe big enough to have 2 pairs in one tank but my gut feeling says "No". I am sure others will come on and give you more and better info than what I can give you. Johnny

Thanks Johnny,

I just don't want the BTA to get lonely + the symbiotic relationship that anemones and clowns have seems to be important and I also think it is cool . I just don't want to create a problem either.

It seems one never knows Steven. When I added my pair of blue striped cinnamons, I was going to move the resident pair of orange skunks to another tank.

The cinnamons moved into the large bubble the skunks live in and they all got along. Sleep all curled up together at night. The larger cinnamon hangs with the largest skunk, . Perhaps I will have cinnamon skunks.

This is not a normal situation but just shows one never knows. As long as they are watched. I will moce the skunks if the cinnamons become aggressive.

WEll ordinarily I would recommend adding more clowns with an existing pair, but since its a 180, you may get away with it, get small P biaculatus and hopefully they will occupy them selves and leave the others alone.
FWIW all standard disclaimers apply. Just remeber its gonna be a taxo removing fish once they are in there
