Ok I guess your serious H&S are German made skimmers and there supposed to be among the best. They are a needlewheel skimmer that uses Ehiem and aquaabee bumps.Alot of people say there quality is unparalled except by maybe bubble king.

I was considering ER but have heard H&S are simply better.Check out emarine.ca
or waterworld.ca they carry them.As for the exact meaning of H&S im not really sure myself but there good skimmers, but then again everything made by germany is.

Cosine,if you go to the list of sponsors on Reef Central you will see that Tropical Paradise carries them,I believe thats a American dealer for H&S.Personally I cannot figure out how to view drygoods on the tropical paradise website though, hopefully you'll have better luck than I did!

The only thing I would be worried about with H&S versus ER would be replacement parts availability. What if they decide they aren't doing as well as they had anticipated in North America? Will you still be able to obtain parts in a timely manner or will you have to wait for a container ship from Germany? BTW I think ER was originally based on H&S.

Do you guys think the 200-1260 that has one ehiem pump is sufficient for a 180g heavilly stocked reef or do I need the 200-2x-1260 trhat has two Ehiem pumps. The 200-1260 is rated at 325gal the 200 2x-1260 is rated for like 590gal,do you think one ehiem pump can do a good job??All the cs12-2 ER use two sedra 5000 so are two pumps better?

Did you notice that the site cosine posted, all their skimmers are out of stock. They are quite pricey too. If Euro's are based on them, no wonder Euro thinks their skimmers are a good value, they are a bit cheaper. I have a Euro and like it, but no better than my AquaC Urchin or MRC for what it does. And my DIY is the best! Go GEOFF!!!!! H&S would probably be very good for "skimmer groupies".
