Is $125 good for a 125 +stand,hood and filter?

I know it is but just wondering what the price for a used 125 gallon tank would be. Trying to convince my wife it is a great deal.
Hopefully the deal goes through.
Thanks

Tell her that I paid $200 for a 125 that was really scratched up (polished out great, though!), stand and hood. And I got a steal of a deal at that price!

Jump on that deal before it gets away from you!

I am looking into one for 150.I have seen them up to 500 used in my area. When u think about the cost of a new one at almost 600 here it is a good deal.I would make sure it is full of water before I bought it though just so u can tell if it leaks before I would buy it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. My buddy just got a 75g, glass canopy, few msc, and wood stand for $100. Don't think you can go wrong. Also take schrader mo's advise, check for leaks.

Got my 75 with a stand and freshwater stuff for $125. Snatch it up! And then bring it to someone that guarantees and have it drilled. Wish I did.

Is the tank in a condition that you will enjoy looking at? No point saving money if you get a tank that does not show off your prized specimens. Dimensions mean alot too. 125's are usually six feet long; do you want that or something deeper/taller?

Its not a deal if its not the tank you want!

On the other hand - if your wife is givin' you the business over $125, well you better take what you can get!

$125 is good for just a $125 gal tank without stand and stuff. If the stand is in any way nice looking it's great.

That sounds like a great deal. I paid $400 for a new 80 gallon set-up. Johnny

It sounds like a great deal to me. I would jump all over it assuming the tank is free of leaks.

dont forget about copper. check and see if the previous owner used any copper based medications before. Copper will stay in the system for a long time and is difficult and expensive to purge from a system. Others should be of more help on this topic.

otherwise sounds like a great deal.

James, good point on the copper , If it isnt wet now, it might be a good idea to carefully remove the silicone (taking care not to cut into the seal) and recaulk the seams, Assuming its a glass tank.
Heck even if its an ugly tank, it would make nice sump, refugium. Heavily planted with macro and sand bed critters, and breeding shrimp You could have it feed an awesome 29g carnation coral tank

I bought my acrilic 125+MH hood & stand 2 1/2 years ago new and it was $1200.00 and have seen them for various prices in between for used ones . even if its all scrached up it would make a nice sump provideing its acrilic . that is what i am planning to do when i get a new tank next year .

If a dollar a gallon becomes the new standard for selling tanks, I'm looking for a 1000!
