interesting observations

I have noticed Drew's fish doing some interesting things....
She stirs up the sand like a tornado...then goes immediately to the area of strongest current and waits...when the sand etc works it way to her she has a feast...
had some algae growth at the edge and under the sand line...in her digging she uncovered most of the algae and now most of the algae is gone...thank you fishy fishy...

something has been eating the coraline...one rock is almost completely clean...not sure what it might be, but something sure should be fat...
tank inhabitants (possible suspects)....

scarlet crabs (2)
trochus snails (2)
margarita snail
nassarius snails (2)
brittle star
keyhole (?) limpets (2 that I've found)
maroon chiton (just found him yesterday)
small black unidentified snails (2)
stars (2) (very small brown mottled colors HH)
one of those nasty looking fuzzy scummy looking crabs about a 1/4 in (just found him las coouple of days...lives under a piece of rock..I will have to remove the rock to get to him... if I can then)

if anyone has any thoughts on the coraline eaters I would/will be greatly appreciative...

bob

Fun, isn't it?

You have a couple of different things in there that could be munching on the coralline but my bet is on that fuzzy crab. I've had several in different tanks and when the lights are on, I see a claw appear every once in a while to scrape the rocks. When the lights are off, they come out and do more than snack. One of them was pretty good sized and he had a collection of snail shells at the bottom of his rock before I could get him out.

Dumb things.
