Instruction needed in fragging a coral

I have a piece of colt coral that is attached to a rock and is growing quite large. I was wondering if there was a way that I could cut a few pieces off to trade to friends, and if so, instructions would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

What I do is go to the "Y" intersection and using a razor blade just make a clean slice. What helps with me is to make a little hole in the rock and put in a drop of super glue gel, then pat dry the end of the colt and stick it in. Hole for about 10 sec then immurse in water. Good to go. Or you could just give it unmounted

I don't mean to contradict anyone, however I have never heard of gluing a soft coral in place and having it stick. Soft corals and colts are among the worst, produce a slime layer that releases them from the adhesive. But the rest is good advice. Just cut it off at the desired location, I would also do this out of the tank if possible. Some softies give off a toxin when injured, so depending on the size of this piece it may be substantial.

I have found the easiest way of attaching the colts and other softirs like it is with a toothpick and a piece of rubble. All you do id cut it and stick it hehehhe

Ok maybe not just stick it but if you can find a place where the toothpick will holn in a piece of lr that will work. Or you can also loosly wrap a rubberband around each end of the toothpick thus holding it in place
