In what order would you add these fish?

Finally decided what i want to keep in my 53 usg tank

Pair of percula clowns
royal gramma
and a algae blenny

From advice i've read i should add the most aggressive last so i guess thats the clowns.

My plan is to get the aglae blenny in the first month then the gramma in the second month, then add the pair of clowns in one go in the third

Sound ok?

Matt

I have had a pair of true percula since I got my tank going (8 Months) since then I have added a PJ Cardinal a six line wrasse a Fairy wrasse and A royal gramma with no problem of aggression.

My perc is very mellow he was 1st in the tank and welcomes everyone The Gramma may be more agressive than a true perc. But I only have 1 so a pair of Percs may be more aggressive.

i would stick with the peppermint shrimp. you will not see either shrimp, since they like to come out at night, you might as well pick a shrimp that does something usefull. peps will eat small aiptasia when hungry.

i would add the gramma first. they are wimps. blennies can be rambuctious if they are first.

Thanks everyone, as always i appreciate the responce

Must admit Geoff that i've read that peps are the ones to go for, like you said they are known to eat aips, i've got a small aip in my tank and every time i get my syringe full of JJ near it ' it dissapears into the rock so peps sound good

I've been thinking that next time my aip dissapears i'm going to plug his hole with reef putty so he can't get back out? good idea?

Getting back to the shrimp Q how many would you keep in a 53?

TIA

My personal experience with peps is that if they are small upon introduction, GOOD LUCK! All of my small guys died right away, either sucked into my overflow, eaten or just feeble. I now have only one in a 125 and I have no more apstasia. I've had him for three months so far. I hardly ever see him unless I look into my "cave" where he lives. I've also heard from other reefers that the bigger ones are the ones who keep the aps under control. I would think one would be enough for your tank.

i would start with 3. you will prolly end up with one. they just seem to be fragile until they get to be about 3" in length. then they are bullet proof.

it would be better to just fill the hole with JJ and be done with it. they seem to find another hole if you use epoxy.

They won''t always appreciate that as much as you'd think. I've heard of people being thrown out of stores due to the fact that you're telling the truth as you see it, not trying to sell something.

My lfs is more like a large supermarket, something on the lines of wal mart i guess, i would say it's one of the largest outlets for marine in the south of england so they are prolly one of the busiest, it also seems like a place where people take there young children to view the fish instead of buying!! another thing i've noticed is that they employ young people who are never there that long so advice is sparce, which is why i really appreciate this forum and you guys

Theres been a few instances that i would have liked to pull a few people up on how they work but never had the experience to know what i'm talking about!!
