Question

Imax Coral Reef Adventure question

Hello,

If you've seen this show, how did you like it?

We can only see it today at 3:30 and it's 45 min away...and not a convenient day...HOWEVER...if you totally loved the show, then I would go with Troy (who got us started in reefing), who is visiting and won't get to see it another time, then go again with Steve when he can go.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
Shirley

Reviews:
Coral Reef Adventure follows the real-life expedition of ocean explorers and underwater filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall. The Halls guide us to the islands and sun-drenched waters of the South Pacific, including Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Fiji, Tahiti and the mysterious depths of Rangiroa Atoll, to document the health and beauty of coral reefs. On the giant screen, you'll feel like you’re diving and exploring right alongside them! Narrated by Liam Neeson.

It sure sounds great but other than that no help here!

I loved it.

Sit up high near the projector in an IMAX theatre, absolutely awesome!!!

Parts were unfortunately a bit overdone, but will oplay well the the general public (for example, unless the reef have REALLY gone down a lot in the past 3 years, I think they chose the absolute worst case areas to show the effects of el Nino, but nonetheless, it was beautiful and entertaining. I joined the Discovery Museums as a result, it was just about cheaper to join for $75 and only pay $4 a person for the tix (I took a small crowd of folks) than pay $14 each as non-members. The membership is good at most associated museums nationwide, and they sent me 4 free tix for the IMAX theatre when they sent me my permanent membership card.

Well worth the money. btw, I met these two at the 1999 MACNA meeting, they are the same in person as they are in the film.

Thanks, Tom and Johnny. Steve and I will definitely go, but we just couldn't make it today. So, depending upon how long it will play there will determine whether or not Troy can come back up in time to see it.

Thanks!

Shirley

Loved it. Saw it at Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago with our reef club. Had a great time. Agree with Tom. Sit up high. We sat too low and had to strain a bit to catch it all.

Loved it. It's a bit sad to see all the reef devastation taking place across the globe. It will open your eyes. The footage is breathtaking,Don't miss it. Steve
