IMAX Coral reef Adventure!

Ok...I just got back from seeing the new IMAX coral reef movie. All I can say is...it was religious. Talk about toal immersion...DON"T MISS IT! It's playing at OMSI. Get ticket early for the show you want to see because our was sold out.

Piero,

I checked out that site and it reminded me of a night when I was in Pakistan... At the time I was in the Marine Corps and my duty was Embassy Guard at the Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan.

Anyways, I had gone out to one of the oil companies shore houses to watch the sea turtles come ashore and lay eggs... It was the most amazing experience... To see these 400+ pound turtles make their way 200-300 feet up the beach and dig a hole 4 feet into the sand and lay eggs...

I have pictures around somewhere that I will have to scan and post... It truly was an awe inspiring experience... I don't think I appreciated it then as much as I do now....

I wish I was into fish keeping when I was on my Honeymoon in Antigua...

I'd done plenty of snorkeling out there and saw plenty of 4 foot pipe fish amongst the lavish coral reefs, but didn't gain a true appreciation of it until I started keeping fish....

Ain't life a *****???

Now I gotta plan another trip out there so I can get the full appreciation of it....

Thanks so much for reminding me about this film. I just saw that it won't be in Atlanta until the end of the month but that will be fine (have to have surgery this week).

Did you think that this IMAX was appropriate for kids? I have 3 kids, the youngest turning 3 this week actually! She loves movies but I'm thinking this might be over her head and be something I can do with the older two (11 and 8 yrs). Any opinions? I really want them to see a good example of the reef, something that educates as well as entertains. KWIM?

Thanks for any input!

Once again, thanks for that input. If your wife got queasy, I am sure I will, LOL!!!

Definetly won't be taking the 3 year old then, I think the older 2 can handle it though. As much as I hate it, their Dad used to let them watch some terrible stuff (Friday 13th type movies-don't ask, long story ). Unfortunately, they can handle some movies better than I can. Uggghhhh, don't get me started that gets me rolling on a whole different guilty-mother complex!

Anyway, thanks for the input....I will judge accordingly.

Don't read my post the wrong way,,,,nothing gruesome,,only thing i meant was the visual aspects of the film(movement etc) might un-nerve a lil one, roller coaster type ,flying , pit of your stomach movements due to the 5 story OmniMax experience.
like i said it semi freaked out a lil one when we were there.
no way , horror ,violence type stuff,,
