If i decide to start a new tank....

I want to run this by you all and see what's possible, so please help me think it through. I'm hoping my plans will evolve along with this post.

I am thinking of something along the lines of a 75g , DIY rock, BB, FO or SSB (not planning on fuge or sump) with a niger trigger, long horned box fish, spiny puffer, foxface and maybe another something.
But i'm not certain if these are compatible and if so, would these fish (being heavy eaters) be too much for 75g? And since they get big.....

I already have my heart set on the niger trigger at work and am thinking i'd like to have fish instead of corals

i just refreshed my memory on tank size for longhorn boxfish... a 75 is way too small...

so how about anglers?

and if i put cleaner shrimp and hermit crabs in there, will they quickly become snacks?

cut out the boxfish and your looking good. no shrimp unless they are food. an angler would be ok as long as it is smaller than the rest of the fish. even if they do get big they don't swim much so it wouldn't be a problem in a tank that size... i hope you plan on a big skimmer.

yup, gonna need a skimmer like mad

triggers are so cool

i think i'll go with trigger, foxface and some sort of angler. the foxface might help keep any long algae down and hopefully snails will be safe...if i go with shallow sand i may get a cuke and i would like to throw some big rooted bunches of seaweed in there. My employee discount at work is quite good, i should be able to get lots of snails, hermits and rockweeds.

the puffer is the danger with snalils and hermits... I would almost think they're French with the amount of snails they eat (no offence intended). the angler may go after the cuke so be cautious. get the cheapest angler you can find because the expensive ones change color and look the same as the cheap ones.
