Unhappy

If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I bought some coral last week from a website and they were doing fine for a few days. I bought 3 frags of zoo's, 2 mushrooms and a montipora. Everything is still doing fine except for the montipora. It closed up one day slowly and closed up tighter. I know this can be a number of things, but I just want some ideas. My water is fine with feedings of zoo and phyto plankton and supplemented with calcium, iodine, and a few other basics every other day. This is in a 12 gal nano... I thought about chemical warfare, but they normally get over that pretty quickly. At night, with the moonlight, you can only see a little of the polyps...used to be flourishing. And it looks like it started to die off, it's just a lil spot at the top of the branch but that can't be any good at all. If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks for your time.

I don't usually worry about polyp extension on new corals but the dieoff at the tip of the branch isn't a good sign. Have you done any water testing? Mushrooms and zoos can tolerate pretty crappy water conditions so if you have something out of whack they wouldn't neccessarily show it.

I see this is in a 12 gal nano...what kind of lighting do you have on the tank? What kind of flow is it in?

it could be a lighting issue if you don't have enough light. If it doesn't get enough light it won't get the nutrients to cope with the stress of moving to a new tank...that could be one theory.

Do you test for iodine? If so, how often?

What criteria do you use to determine how much zoo and phyto to add to the tank?
