ID's for anemone's and question about a mean fish

First of all I'd like to know what kind of anemone's we have. The first one we got just a few days ago. To be honest, not even the lady who sold it knew what kind it was but it was housing the clownfish (that we bought with it) perfectly and that's what we wanted so we bought it, After looking at pictures, my brother thinks it's a "Heteractis Magnifica" I also think that seems about right but just to be sure, here's a picture.

Sorry about the glass, it's got some water dried on the sides.

The other we got a few weeks ago I think, it was a present and they forgot the name Sorry for the terrible quality, the only way to get a picture of it was on an angle and I guess the glass makes the picture blurry because of that. I hope it's enough to atleast get an idea. My brother was thinking it was a condi anemone but I'm not too sure. Any input would be appreciated!

The last question I have is about a mean fish (domino damsel.) Everytime we've added new fish, he has chased them like crazy and nipped at there tails and such. When we added anemone's and a sea cucumber, the fish would back up to them and slap them with his tail.. Anyways, he chased the clown fish around the tank multiple times until the clown found his home again but now the bigger fish just waits above him for the clown to get far enough from the anemone so that he can chase him.. the black fish won't get too close to the anemone but he's really not letting the clown get too much movement, any ways to get around this? or what do you think is the best way to catch a fish? This one is wayyy too smart/fast for the net, can't get it anywhere near him. Thanks for any help!

don't know about the anemone, but the damsel must go! When I have to get a fish out of the tank, I sometimes take the whole darn thing apart, but it is always worth it in the end.

Thanks for your quick reply! I got another (better) picture of the second anemone:]

And what do you reccomend I do with the damsel? Put him in the sump? Flush him? ( ) Try to sell him to a store? I was really just hoping he'd get eaten by the anemone;p but I don't think that's going to happen.

Welcome to trt! I say take him to lfs. I hate when people talk about flushing a living fish. You may not get anything for him but it's better than the alternative. Not sure on the anemone's, tho I have seen some white lta's. Btw, what kind of clown? Looks like my maroon, and if it is it will give the damsel a run for his money once he settles in. My dwarf lion doesn't even mess with my female maroon. She has to protect the male tho cause he's a wimp.

Anemone may be a riccordia, if it is they are fish eaters!

Damsel should be sent to lfs if it's healthy, usually u can get store credit for a couple of $$.

I'm pretty sure it's a perculia because it has that white lump/line that goes towards their face on their middle stripe. What do you mean give the damsel a run for its money? as in attacking it? the damsel is quite a bit bigger than it.. but what I have seen the clown doing is I think purposely floating away from the anemone and darting at the damsel if it's close and then right back into the anemone in hopes that the damsel will chase it I think

I don't think percs are as mean as maroons. Clowns and damsels are all in the same family so I don't think the anemone would stun the damsel and be able to eat him especially if he is as healthy as he sounds. I just had to deal with a mean velvet damsel. I had hoped my volitan would eat him but never did. The lfs gave me a couple dollars credit for it. If you had a maroon I would say give it time and he would show the damsel who is really ruler of the reef but I have never had a perc so I don't know on them.

Yeah, I'm second guessing myself now.. Up close, it doesn't look anything like any maroon clowns I've seen in pictures but now that you've shown me yours, I definately see a resemblance. Well, I'm happy it's a maroon then! maybe it'll make that damsel leave it alone;]

again SORRY for the ugly glass, it really needs to be wiped down.

What do you think? maroon? :\

I say maroon. Percs lines are much more defined. Also if it is old enough you can see little nubs sticking out on both cheeks. Females can get pretty big(up to 6 inches) and yes mean.
