I found this when I did a search for briareum on google. I think this is definately what you have despite it not moving around. Look at the tenticles on the end of your first pic, and then the ones on this. It looks identical to me. I personally have some nasty little buggers that are munching on my zoo's. I suck out at least 5 a day, and then the next day there will be 5 or 10 more! they are driving me crazy. Then there are the flatworms... GRRR I hate those things, they multiply so dang fast!

OMG.. Thats it.. The tips are white and it looks JUST LIKE THAT!! And of course after saying its only moved once or twice, after messing with it yesterday today it had moved like 1/2 an inch. Tahts just fricken amazing.. How something could resemble/mimic something totally different. Okay, so maybe it is a bad thing.. But you, despite me having to try to remove it now, this is one of the MANY reasons I love salt water tanks. The sheer fact that you "think" your getting one thing, can bring in all kinds of other , both good and bad things..
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP.. WE DEFINATELY HAVE A IDENTITY.. Not that I'm going to like to explain to my husband that he now has to get that thing out of there. Thanks again everyone.

hmmmm....
The rubbery description has me stumped, as the nudibranchs are more fleshy, BIG T, how would you describe their "feel" ?
Onoy reason I askl is that there are a few cucumbers that mimic some of the nudibranchs, but are more of a rubbery consistancy as Jenn described. This is not to say that you've not id'd the critter, just that it may be something else still...

I can definately say, as a newcomer to the group, only a been on the site for a month and a half now, you all have amazed me. That was a great job. Thanks to all who contributed. Once I told my husband he let me be the one to go in and get it out. He's so neat though, I couldn't readly flush him, so he has governers pardon for the time being in our coverted 55 gal we just finished yesterday. After much closer inspection of the rock he was on, we are currently missing patches of star polyps, which seem to be there favorites to dine on.
What a great group of people here.
