Bubble algae, remove it but do not pop it or else it will spread all over the tank.

No aiptasia in the tank. The pic was one we found on the internet. Ours only had the bubble algae.
Now that we removed the bubble algae, what are the chances of it coming back. It was on one 5 pound rock and was only in our tank for an hour.
Thanks

I had red bubble algae in my tank.
Wouldn't stop growing.
Had to buy a new tank and new rock to get rid of it.

Only time will tell. As long as you didnt pop it, then its very unlikely it spread pores all around your tank. If you can, I would pull that one piece out........and let it sit in darkness for a few weeks......aka cook it. That will assure you that its not going to come back.

Best way to get rid of it,take the rock out remove bubbles and rince it with some water and put back.

Remember though, they can only grow if there are enough nutrients, keep the phosphates down (<0.04 mg/L) and they like other algae starve.
