idea for a tank

i am an artist at heart, and i was thinking of a way to make my tank abit more unique.. not my current tank,, but perhaps one in the near future, and wanted ideas on how it would work

the idea is to make a floating "planet"

use one large chunk of live rock (or several glued together to form a large piece make it round, by chipping away or glueing in chunks, leave some caves and such inside it. suspend it on a piece of acrlic rod so it apears to be floating in the center of the tank, perhaps even motorize it so it does a slow turn maybe one revolution per day. mix it with bright light loving corals as well as shade loving ones (so the underside won't be bare.)

any thoughts on this, would the slow rotation mess with the corals on it?

That would be a unique tank, no doubt. I don't think the rotation would mess with the coral that much provided it's slow. Actually it might be good for them because they would get light from all sides throughout the day,... Might mess with the poor fish though,.. it would be ruff for them to find their hiding spots

you could probably ramp it up to .025 rpm (3 rotation every 2 hours)
that would be a cool tank

I'm thinking about the motor (for the rotation) placement. It might be better to suspend the rock from the top of the tank so you won't have to worry about leakage. Of course, you'll have to make sure it's very well attached so it doesn't drop and literally crash your tank.
