Idea for a sump/fuge - looking for opinions.

Idea for a sump/fuge - looking for opinions.

I was thinking about a setup that looks something like what is shown below. I am not ready for a sump or new tank yet but I want to get my ideas all figured out for the day I do decide to get a large tank. Let me know what you think along with your opinions.

you have LR in one area, what were you going to put in the fuge?

remember fuges need to be cleaned regularly also. if you plan on using sand in the fuge make it easy to get to in order to shop vac all of the sand out every few years to replace it.

i would prefer to just have the return pump on the opposite end of the skimmer and leave the center section empty. makes it a lot easier to siphon out accumulated detritus.

I agree, keep the rock in the fuge.

If you must have a fuge, put the LR in there..I don't think fuges are of any value personally though.
