ID snail?

This snails always on my polyps at night and decided just to be safe and get an ID, dont know of any snails that eat corals but i dont know. The snail itself is black which i thought was wierd. Hes living in my 10 gallons HOB filter for now. Heres a picture of him. Hes pretty small, probably the size of a dime.

Might be something they have listed on the site. Another poster linked this site to one of my threads to id a snail I found in the tank last night.

Don;t see anything on that site that looks like that second thought.

That might have been me. Just sites I got from others on this forum or stumbled across in my own quest to ID all the critters in our tank.

Nerites seem to come in several colors/patterns. Here's a site with lots of photos.
http://www.chucksaddiction.com/Hitchsnails.html
If you scroll down (about 1/3 of the page?), there's a photo of a black shell. We have a few in our tank, I think. It looks like one used to have black, ridged shell; another couple have smooth, patterned ones like at the site bb029 listed. Both kinds in our tank have a black 'foot'. The biggest looks like it's around 3/4 of an inch at its widest.

Hope you find the info you were looking for.

Yea i know haha but it isnt, ive had it since i started my tank, it came in on a button polyp colony and it never left that rock since the tank started up around 9 months ago which i thought was pretty wierd. It also has those groves in its shell that go all the way around which is not like a turbo.
