ID Red/purple algea maybe?

My tank has been set up for about 2 and a half months, I have already went through my diatom phase, I think anyways i dont see anymore. But for some reason I have this red/purple algea in my tank, at first I just thought it was coraline, but its not hard. Its hairy almost and its on the sand bed for the most part. I dont have a camera to take pics or i would.

a-0 or between 0and.25 well bellow .25 though
Nitrites-0
nitrates-20 I cant seem to get them down
ph-8.1
cal-450 i usually dose with purple up maybe every other day

anyone know what it is?

At first I thought cyano...but I'm not sure I would ever describe cyano as "hairy". Is a pic possible?

do you have little or no water flow in that area?

Sounds like Cyano to me......When you do a water change siphon it off of your sand bed. Try to get your nitrats down to 0 with more waterchanges.

sounds like cyano to me, its the right time for it.

It is normal at this stage.
