ich

I have a damsel in a relatively new 10 gal nano-reef (6 months old) that got ich a few months back. Since I didn't really care too much about the fish and definitely couldn't catch the little bugger without tearing apart the whole tank, I just left him in there. Now, about 2 months after the ich first appeared, he seems to be totally fine. Only one white spot left and it seems to be subsiding. Does ich just go away after a while or is this some other kind of infection? I've seen ich many times and it really looks exactly like it. If ich does just go away, why doesn't everyone with ich problems just ride it out?

I do belive that ich will only have so many cycles and will die off, I can't say for sure. I have had it in the past and the fish survive and over time it die out and they never get it again. QT anything else You get. But until You know for sure it is gone don't add anything to the tank. Fish that is

there is a life cycle to it. but as long as it has a host even that one spot can come back again and strong.
you can give your fish some garlic food. that does seem to help boost there immune system adn help fight off things.
best bet is to QT everyone befoe going in to the main tank. including the guy now.
try doing a search for ICH in the main area , there a main threads about it.
