Icecap ballast and XM bulbs

Im currenlty burning a 175watt Ushio 10K bulb, and I want to try an XM. Can the XM bulbs run on an Icecap ballast? Im having trouble finding any information on which ballasts these bulbs can run with.

Cheers,
Dustin

I've read on another site that there is a problem . I'm not sure if it was the 250w or the 175 . I also don't know if it has been fixed . But here is Ice Caps site give them a shout I'm sure they will be glad to help .

Hey Dustin:

If the 175w ballasts are anything like the 250w ballasts, it will all depend on which version of the IceCap ballast that you are running.

For the 250w ballasts like I have, the "old-style" ballast has to be tuned for the specific bulb you are using. In contrast, the "new style" ballasts will auto recognize and fire almost every brand of 250w bulb made.

Give IceCap a holler on thier RC sponsor's forum; you'll find that they are more than willing to help you out.

Good Luck!

He's right, I had forgotten that the old ballasts we're picky. But the newer ones aren't
