Question

Ice Cap Ballast Wiring Q's

I have a blue icecap ballast (175W-MH) The ballast comes with five wires:

1. Black
2. White
3. Green
4. Yellow
5. Blue

The directions list no. 1-2 are the power cables no. 3 is ground and no. 4-5 go hooked up to the bulb.

My question is and this is the way the hood was mounted, is has three cables one green, one black and one white. So being that the green is hooked in to the chasis this will be the ground. My question is how should I match the black/white with blue/yellow?

I know that black is hot and white is neutral, what is blue and yellow? Do Metal halide bulbs care what the polarity is of the cables as long as they have one positive one negative and a ground?
