I would love one ,but one I have no room for the tank for it and my wife would shoot me if I got a tank that big.(couple of 1,000 gallons).Smallest one I saw was 5,000 for two.

I saw one in a 500 gallon tank a few years ago and it was a fairly small shark but I still felt sorry for it. It was like seeing 3 10" oscar's in a 55 gallon tank. I don;t even remember what kind of shark it was. I know it was light brown on the top, maybe a lemon /shrug.

They need AT LEAST an 8 foot tank that is REALLY wide. Soft substrate and low lighting. All in all, I don't think they should ever be in a home aquarium.

here is my dream.. having an indoor pool containing a little piece of a reef, have a shark, and being able to go scuba diving in the tank

watching too much shark week, eh?
if you're serious about keeping a tank that can sustain a shark long-term, then there area lot of considerations. First, footprint. The shark needs room to roam, and I'd say something like and 8'x8' footprint would be great. you could maybe go a little smaller, but I wouldnt push it. Height of the tank isnt very important (2' is plenty, 20" would work as well). Then you've got to make sure the tank can handle the bioload. sharks are messy eaters, so good filtration will be important. If it's in a basement, youre surely going to want some sort of air handler to deal with the enclosed space and high evaoporation.

You must have a lot of $$$$$.I think a SW pool would be to small for most sharks.

Do you have any leads on where I can find one of these jobs that will let me expand beyond what I have already collected?
