what exactly does "run your skimmer we" mean? we havent touched the controls for it at all, but somedays it just fills up with water and other days it only full of foam
Which is the better to have? very new to this and havent found a good thread yet about skimmers- btw it is the oceanic biocube skimmer(14)

something else of interest: every piece(4) to be exact accept 1 piece of my LR is covered with HA, the other piece has nothing- not even a spec and never has
any thoughts on this?

The 4 pieces of live rock are full of PO4 while the one with nothing on it is clean. How many animals do you have in the tank? If your animals are easily removed from the infected rocks then you might want to concider cooking the rocks or buying some new LR and cooking it then replacing the rock you have in your system with the clean rock.

The wetter you run your skimmer the more water will be mixed in with the skimmate. I run mine as wet as I can with out over flowing it. The reason is that the wetter you run it the more detritus will be removed at the expence of removing ASW as well. But it is ok because you can just add more ASW.

I gotta go more on this later.

Keep pulling it off by hand and dont feed fish as much, it will eventually calm down and start to die

The sea hare will eat the PO4 locked up in the HA but the PO4 in the rock will remain untill it is removed via water changes and skimming. The sea hare will poop out the PO4 that it ate in the HA and it will return to the rock if not removed first.
