Question

I messed up. salinity question

In the process of a water change, I removed 10% tank water, being distracted, I filled up with top off water not salt water. I am now removing another 10% and putting in my salt water. Can everything be OK until tomorrow? how far out of whack am I? I will test after it runs a while but can I assume this is like rain over the reef? should I top off with salt water to bring it back up slowly?
HELP please

well you are probably right. just checked and it's 1.018 so I will top off with salt water tomorrow and recheck. Man, kids, dogs, fish, and the phone ringing. everyone is in bed and now "my time". US Open woo hoo thanks VWD, just don't want to hurt anything LFS being closed and all, option are low.

Alot of LFS run there at 1.019 to 1.021. and they use swring arm tester that can be off to begin with. I think you will be ok til tomorrow.

When You bring it up today, You will have to have a higher SG then normal. and Take Your time bringing it back up to where You have been keeping it.

Like Vince said, just make sure you take your time. Bring the salinity back up GRADUALLY. That's the key to not harming anything to much.

you should be fine.
