Unhappy

I may have made a FATAL mistake to my tank

For some reason I wasn't thinking when I came in from a fishing trip... I noticed my clam had fallen and i needed to sit him upright... I put my hand in the tank to place him back where he needed to be.... and in that instant I realized I had sunblock on my arm.... but it has been on for about 5 hours and I thinks it water resistant...

Hope I haven't lost hope yet... maybe my skimmer will get it out... anyway its a very small amount in there if any...

I'm very worried, what should I do... please help...

clown did you see a "oil slick" when your arm went in? don't a lot of sunblocks waer off after a few hours of sweating?, anyway i thin' best turn the skimmer up run some fresh carbon just incase..

i do not think that it is that bad. it generally does not mix well with the water so the skimmer should pull it out. you may need to agitate the waters surface to keep it from just sitting on the waters surface.

I would agree that the carbon should take care of it. If it was going to affect anything I would think you would notice something happening (corals closing up) pretty quick. On my first tank I was doing dishes and then stuck my hand in my tank to set a coral upright again and I could see the "oilslick" when I pulled my arm out. corals were agitated right away and closed up. I didn't have a skimmer on that first tank and just put in an extra carbon bag and it was fine in a day...
