I just purchased my lights!

After long consideration I went ahead and bought the following lights 48" 4x65W Coralife Aqualight PC hood, 2x Actinic and 2x 10,000K. I know most people advocate buying MH but honestly I do not know if they would have fried my fish considering my tank is only 55 galons and the lights I purchased where agffordable and in a already made package.

I have some questions;

1- What type corals or softies will survive with the lights I purchased?

2- Can I have any type of clams or is there not enough light for clams?

3- Should I have all my lights on at same time "actinic and clear" I know some people start the actinic 1/2 hour before clear lights and then repeat same thing at night before turning them off".

4- Last but not least what plant or coral do you recommend I start with? My tank has been running since last june.

Thanks in advanced for your help!

I'm pretty sure you should be ok with mushrooms and polyps.

2- Can I have any type of clams or is there not enough light for clams?

Not likely. I'm not a clam expert, but that doesn't sound like enough light.

If you have the ability to isolate the actinics I would do so. Staging them is more natural.

Start out with some polyps or shrooms

Thanks in advanced for your help!
