I just got my LR for my 180gal tank.

Hello Everyone,

I just got my order of LR from Jeff's Exotic Fish. It is Vanisi (Tonga) rock. It is GREAT!!!!! I ordered 200lbs. The shapes and life on the rock is spectacular!! I spent about 4 hours arranging it in the show tank. I decided to cure it there since I really didn't have anything in the tank yet. The rock should cure very quickly. I smelled every piece and everything smelled fresh like the ocean. No bad odor at all.

I just had to share with you all because noone I know can appreciate this like you all can.

This is my first reef tank and I am soooooo excited!!!!!!!

Now I can't wait to start adding to the tank (after it cures).

Thanks for listening.

Steven

KEWL!!!

I remember getting my first LR for my ten gallon (geeze it's been ages!) I ended up stareing at my new rocks for over an hour, this hobby seems crazy sometimes...imagine getting excited about watching *rocks*!!

Still, I know how you feel...with so much live rock you are bound to get even cooler stuff on it then I did! Enjoy every moment, and *take pictures* keep a record of your tank's progress, you'll never regret it! I have a scrapebook where I keep my tank pics/notes/info/animal lists, thoughts/tank plans e.t.c.

Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your new tank!

No kidding, once you get the first rock, your hooked. then you sit around for hours in a live rock daze lookin at stuff no one else sees, jeez this sounds vaguely of the 60's but I dont remember
Anyway most of us reef addicts just have a couple fish so we dont get locked up by "concerned" loved ones

Oh, and while the rock is curing and the tank is maturing a bit, put up a sign that says "Rare Invisible Fish!" I don't know how many times I fielded the question "It's a fish tank; why aren't there any fish?"
