I hope this is not Ick

I see this white spot under the eye of one of clowns I got in the mail yesterday. Does this mean that this clown has Ick. They ate once yesterday. Did not eat at all today and one of them has had this clear stringy poop coming back off and on. I have this stuff called "Quick Cure for Fast Relief of Ick and Other Parasites" Should I begin treating or should I wait to see if more spots develop? Please help

If it is ick, the quick cure will not work IME. I used this before and my fish still died. If the spot is cloudy and fluffy, it could be something else.

Do you know of something better than that Quick Cure? Do you think I should do a freshwater dip? I swear this one book I read made it seem like once they get the white cyst its curtains for the fish

it is not curtains for the fish. if you dont already, i would suggest feeding a garlic soaked food, and watching them for a while. if it gets worse then a treatment may be nessecary. i would have to recommend "kick ich", IME it WORKS, and is completely reef safe. i lost nothing in the tank but the Ich. nothing even looked upset for the length of the treatment.

I have been trying to feed them mysis soaked in garlic guard. Kind of new to the soaking food thing. Is five minutes long enough? I only saw them eat once last night. They haven't touched anything today. It seems like these clownfish are very funny about eating. Most fish I have gotten in the past seemed to not eat real good until the third day. I am going to see if I can find some "Kick Ich" just in case.

Thanks

good advice.
if treatment becomes necessary use Foramalin (concintrated formaldihide)
or copper IN AT QT TANK.
I dont know if you can get formalin where you live b/c your not allowed to buy it in all states.
stuff worked great on my clown in a bath.

I agree with the above giving them a fresh water dip now would only stress them out even more. When you feed them do you stand right next to the tank to watch? You may be scaring them.

Being that You have one fish with only a few spots, I would watch and see , I know from talking to You they are very new and it may or may not be ich, They may not be eating until they settle in and adjust,

If it is ich it will look like salt and have plenty of spots, just try to get them to eat and not add any stress . Then let us know,

Will do. Thanks. It's just strange that they ate the first day (3/9) no more since.

It's hard to say, are they in the QT tank? and if so do you have hiding places for them?

Trea, check out the pics on my blog. I just went through a bout of clownfish disease and am very hapy with the results of formilin salt water baths. See for your self.
Also contact your vendor and complain.
