I got a salty bargain today - yay!

Guess what! Today I went to PetSmart and they had a mistake on the 200 gallon bucket of IO - it was labeled $29.99. It rang up at the register $49.99 but they had to honor the price so of course I bought 2. Now - what am I going to do with 400 gallons of IO salt when I probably only need 65 for the new setup?

I guess salt doesn't go bad right? I'll use it eventually. Hopefully this is the "old" IO and not the new "bad" IO that was discussed recently......I'll see how it dissolves.......

Somebody tell me I did the right thing by buying 2 - or should I return 1???

Yes - you did the right thing. You'll use it. No question there.

We buy it 400 gallons at a time regularly.

I don't think it was mislabeled, I just bought a bucket for the same price from the Petsmart up here. Must be a sale? I say keep it because you got it for a good price and you will use it in the long run. Bob
P.S. I don't know anything about good or bad IO salt. I have been using it exclusively since 1990 with no problems ;-)

OK Good - I'll keep it. According to the Manager the $29.99 price has expired....hope they still keep it in your neighborhoods.

I just checked the petsmart here and they are $49.99, I even asked. The sales person I talked to said that he's never seen it for sale at $29.99 and that the cheapest he's ever seen it was "wholesale" at $22.95, I wish the Petsmart here would mislable items...

You are lucky since they don't "have" to honor the price, but most stores do so for the goodwill.
Advertisements, mismarking and other "clerical errors" do not require a merchant to honor those types of mistakes.

many stores in my area do have that policy.. pet supplies plus, petco, and a few grocery stores all have it posted.

if an item was on sale, but isn't anymore, if the tag or sign is still posted they honor it. in addition if a shelf tag is under the wrong items, they will honor the price as well,

i'm sure the shelf stocker gets an earfull afterwards
