I did a stupid thing

Last weekend when I tore my display down, I took my sps's and put them in a rubbermade tub with marginal quality seawater and they stayed overnight in the cold garage.

After reassembly, I put them in good quality seawater with good calcium levels. But they seem to have whitened up and lost their color, not on the tips, but at the base of their branches.

Is this a temporary set back, or did I do irreversable damage. I have one tri-colored acurpura, baby blue branches, red tips with neon green pollups. The neon green is coming back, but the blue branches are holding steady at a bleached out shade.

Hope I didn't expose them to desease.

Uh Oh, Hommeworks that doesnt sound too good. I would be worried more about the temperature change then a little less than good water quality. When you put them back in the tank did u acclimate them slowly so they could get used to the temp. difference.

If so or even if not all you can do now is sit and hoope that they are hardy enough to pull through it.

good luck and I hope they all make it out

MojoReef,

Thanks for your response. Yes I actually acclimated the entire tank, cause even the temporary fish shelter I made was on the cool side. I put everything back together and the water temp was set at 70F, then I gradually incremented the entire display via the digital controller on the chiller. I'm watching. The display is upto 75F now.
