I.D. this...good/bad definitely ugly
I've found this on a rock that I use to more pods and other live food from the refugium into the display tank. it is about 1" long, and uses the same method of movement as a snail...it has two "antennae" and the area behind the antenna is kinda like a hard cap with fringes sticking out all the around the edges...it also has a tube similar to a nassarius snail at the front of it...this is the best pic I can get of it, it went back into a crevice in the rock when I pulled it out of the tank for another pic...I've put the rock back into the refuge until I know if this is a good guy or a bad guy....

Ewww..that is one ugly hitchhiker, Salty. I have no idea, but thought I'd post to help get some activity on your thread. Let's see who we can wake up to take a look.

it is similar to the abalone, not sure though...it is very mobile, the "shell" on the back is slightly harder than the soft portion is uses for locomotion...it doesn't have the holes that i see in that abalone's top edge...i always thought abalone was kinda like an oyster...i was trying to get more pics today but it is way down in a hole in the rock, which is back in the refuge to protect it and my display until i get an I.D.

I had the same hitchhiker when i started my biocube and they spawned fast and there were alot but they never did anything bad to the tank, they do the same thing as snails. After a couple of weeks they suddenly dissapeared.

Yeah, eats algae and grazes usually at night. Get a flash light and look for him.....you will see it. I have them spawning in my aquarium, its pretty cool.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Good guy to have in your tank. I killed off my last one a while ago, I was giving my powerhead a vingegar bath when I realized that he was inside... oops.

HA! I think it is a stomatella! Jenglish you hit the nail on the head. I couldn't remember that name to save me! My stomatellas are getting coraline on there back, kinda interesting to have little purple stomatellas.
