I ask alot of Questions HA HA

This is a something that has me very very confused. For algae in your tank I am mostly finding that people are reccommending snails, and Hermit crabs. I had a Hermit crab and he loved to eat my snails. Why would you ever put these 2 together?

Inspite of the vendors pushing hermits in cleanup crews most experienced reefers are shying away from them, add a wide varity of snails

In a word, no. But of course, there are exceptions. Some say that there are species of hermits that wont attack snails. And also, if the hermits have ample shells, they really don't have reason to attack. I however, made the mistake of buying a clean-up crew from FFE, which had so many hermits I lost count. They aren't good for a DSB, which is why I am leaving them out of any future tanks. Well, maybe one or two, that would be more natural. But never, when I have been out on a reef, have I seen hermits in such dense concentrations as there are in some tanks (like mine )

Hello there! I just removed all my hermits except for a couple of real small ones I did not catch and my big left handed hermit which seems quite mellow.
Hermits can be quite destructive in a reef eating whatever they can find and destroying your infauna(critters) in your DSB. Johnny
